Naphthoxazole derivatives i.e., 3-(1,3-benzoxazol-2-yl) naphthalen-2-ol was synthesized at 130– 1350C in the presence of PCl3 from 3-hydroxynaphthalene-2-carboxylic acid and 2-amino phenol in chlorobenzene. These compounds were characterized by mass spectra, FT-IR and elemental analysis. Antibiotics activity of these compounds was analyzed against Salmonella typhi by using serial dilution method.
